ASHLAND CUSTOM MUZZLELOADERS
We have few different models of muzzleloaders ranging from a base CVA conversion to a full build on custom actions and customer wants. Regardless of level all builds are not only test fired but a load will be worked up for each individual muzzleloader with the Pittman bullets and the appropriate smokeless powder. All rifles are shot and a load is worked up to determine the most accurate powder charge. When you receive your custom muzzleloader you will have a scope mounted and zeroed at 200 yards along with a ballistic chart. Your rifle will be "hunt ready", this is the service that sets us apart from other builders where most will charge a premium, if offered at all, but it comes standard with all our builds.

CVA conversion
CVA Scout conversions are a budget friendly way to get into a smokeless muzzloader. Built using a modified 45-70 barrel the CVA uses a 40cal 225g Pittman Accumax bullet in a sabot. Velocity is between 2500 and 2600 feet per second. 3 piece ramrod comes seperate in custom pouch.
Thompson Center Encore
Existing TC encores can be converted by adding a lug fitting with one of our Brux 45cal barrels. TC-arms has been dormant of the past few years and not producing Encores but it seems that they have been purchased recently and may start making these actions again, once we get our hands on a couple we can determine if they can be used for one of our muzzleloaders or not. Older Contender actions, a fine action in their own right, are not quite beefy enough for our conversion. Encore conversions use a 45cal 275g Pittman AccuMax at 2600 to 2700fps. More customization options open up with barrel length and various aftermarket stock options.
Full builds
These builds are the core of what we do here at Ashland Custom, ranging from Rem 700 actions and laminated stocks to full custom actions, aftermarket triggers, specialized stocks and spiral fluted barrels like the one above it's all on what the customer wants. Most are built with a #5 or Remington Varmint (Sendero) taper barrel but other heavier tapers can be used on request, more information here. The higher end stocks are generally Manners which can be had in fiberglass or carbon fiber and in various finishes. Another popular high end stocks are the McMillan Game Hunter and Game Warden stocks also available in various finishes, we also use HS Precision and Bell & Carlson in many builds. Cosmetic upgrades available as well including Cerakote, bolt fluting and more. These are the highest performing rifles we make in both accuracy and velocity which will all depend on barrel length, bullet and powder used. We do make an effort to keep a few pre-built rifles in stock, mostly with #5 tapered barrels and the Game Hunter or Manners MCS-EH4 as these are some of our most popular builds. For the full custom builds we prefer to speak with the customer to go over all details, explain pros/cons of configuration items and come up with a build that suits you and how you want to hunt.
